Dear Guests, We would like to inform you we took another step in the renovation process. After complete renovation of our guest’s rooms currently we are renovating the hotel façade for your convenience. From 24th of June till 15th of July 2010 the hotel will not be available for bookings. Please accept our apologies and we are awaiting you from 16th of July 2010.
The Metropol Hotel is conveniently situated in the city center, opposite the Palace of Culture and Science and very close to all cultural, business, entertainment and shopping areas. The historical Old Town and the Royal Castle, as well as many other points of interest are also nearby. There is a parking lot in front of the hotel. The distance to the central railway station is 500 m. Distance to Airport: approx. 8 km / 20-30 minutes. Taxis from and to the airport are available on request. The public bus No 175 to the airport has a stop next to the hotel building. The next metro station is located just opposite the hotel.

Accommodation

The hotel offers 172 comfortably furnished rooms, including 110 Standard Rooms, 44 Superior Twin Rooms, 8 Superior King Rooms , 9 Executive Rooms Guestrooms are equipped with: - bathroom - connection to Wireless Internet - telephone - windows can be opened - Sat TV - central heating - hairdryer on request - iron and ironing board on request Non-smoking rooms and accommodation for disabled people are available, as well. Small pets are welcome.

Facilities

The guests can take advantage of the restaurant Metro Jazz Club, business center, games room, jewellery and the currency exchange stand. There is parking lot in front of the hotel. The Hotel offers wireless Internet connection (Wi-Fi) in the building.

This is the best place to take your family, friends and business partners for a drink, food, sports and fun. Metro Jazz Club offers delicious menus and exceptional evenings with live music (jazz standards, piano and vocal). Sports enthusiasts can take part in all the biggest sports events and feel the atmosphere of football pitch, see the rivalry of the best tennis players, join the Formula 1 drivers in their dangerous speed. All that on a big screen 7 days a week from 12h-24h.

The hotel is a very nice piece that reminds you of the soviet times. My personal opinion is that specific details of the soviet era should be kept after renovations - it will be an additional attraction point for the foreign crowd!

The hotel was overall very good - the location is noisy, and there was some problem with access to the staff at the desk (very helpful - just not enough of them).
